Theodore R. Miller, 86, of Hartington, died on Wednesday August 16. 1989, at his residence. Funeral services were on Saturday, August 19, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, at 10:00 am., with the Rev. Frank Dvorak officiating. Burial was at St. Michael's Cemetery, Hartington.

 

Pallbearers were his six grandsons: Dion Miller, Darren Miller, Ted Miller, Gary Kuehn, Bryon Miller, and Scott Ulrich.

 

Mr. Miller was born on October 13, 1902 at Hartington to Jesse and Anna (Mickels) Miller. He married Lucille W. Hirschman on February 21, 1939 at Constance. She died on January 1, 1968.

 

Mr. Miller lived in the Hartington area most of his life and moved into Hartington in 1939. He attended school up until the 8th grade. He was a painter for most of his life.

Neil Miller of Bloomfield

 

Two daughters;

Mrs. Jim (Jeaneen Miller) Kuehn

of Hartington

Mrs. Wally (Linda Miller) Ulrich

of Hartington

 

One sister Mrs. Alma Barger

of LaFayette, Indiana

One brother Ralph Miller

of Silver Springs, MD

 

12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one infant daughter, Mary; and eleven brothers and sisters.

 ◄   At the right is a copy of an obituary for Theodore ROOSEVELT Miller, the eighth child of Jesse and Anna Miller. The obituary was found among the "family memorabilia" of Laverne Miller Ramsey by her daughter, Joyce Ramsey Jackson, who transcribed it here for us.

Joyce made reference to the fact that Anna (Theodore's mother's maiden name as written in this obituary is spelled "Mickels" and not "Mickles". I wrote her that name misspellings were common in family histories , family remembrances and even obituaries .  It is my inclination  to use the spelling as "Mickels" as it was found in W. B. Millers obituary.   See here
