Just below ▼ is William Ramsey with his son William Allen, "Bill", age 6 weeks taken in 1940 at KC, MO.

Date: 2/28/2010. I noticed in your website your comments on Robert O'Toole who was married to

Maud Miller, sister to Leslie Miller and daughter of Jesse E. Miller. Robert O'Toole was an officer in

the Marine Corps and served in China for awhile. My dad was also in the Marine Corps from 1936 to

1940 and was also stationed in China with the 4th Marines. He met Lt. Colonel O'Toole and from

what I understand, this is how he ended up meeting my mother. When Dad's duty in China was coming to an end it was Col. O'Toole who either helped or arranged for Dad to finish his time at the Marine Barracks, Washington D.C. My Mother (Laverne) was working in D.C. at the time and was staying with Maud and Robert (her Aunt and Uncle) . I believe that Dad was invited to dinner one evening. The rest is history I guess !! (I have always wondered if Col. O'Toole was a matchmaker ??)

New in May 2010: Bill sends me another photo of his grandfather, Leslie Miller, as he looked in their 1950's farm kitchen. He is dressed in his "working attire" and the photo brings back many memories of my own hardworking farm family members.

Bill wrote: "I'm sure the photo was taken in the 2nd half of the 1950's. I remember the gloves well - they were interchangeable for either hand!! I think he had come into the house to get some warm water for cleaning up milking equipment."
