Here I am beside the tombstone of Cory (Corey) Taft on July 8, 2007.  It says he died on June 6, 1839 at the age of 38 years and 4 months.  This is at Roscoe Cemetery in Roscoe, Illinois about 10 miles southeast of Rockton.  That would mean that he was born in February of 1801.  I wish that I knew the cause of his death at so early an age.  His son, Stutson, dies a little more than one month later.

Below is the tombstone of his son, Stutson, who is buried beside him.  His stone reads  "Stutson, Son of C and M Taft, Died July 26, 1839, aged 3 yrs. 9 mo."   Of course, "C" is Cory and "M" is Matilda.
